4th Grade Field Trip

Mommy chaperoned Kaitlyn's field trip to the Gates of the Mountains (near Helena)

2 hours in a bus with thirty + 10 year olds will quickly make you appreciate my non-teaching job.

Kaitlyn was in the front seat and nabbed a picture of The Sleeping Giant on the north horizon of Helena.

I nabbed this from the internet...a better picture that may help figure out what you're looking for.

We arrived! Tried to get the group picture out of the way while they were still with us.

All aboard for a trip down the Missouri River on a day that could not be more perfect for a boat tour.

They run these tours for the public during the summer but open them early so classes can tour.

Some of these kids had never been on a boat so it was fun to watch the excitement.

And now...why it's called the Gates of the Mountains (which I didn't even know). At the end of the tour, we circled around on the boat and you can watch the rock faces open, then close the "gate".

On our way back - with some hungry kiddos.

Successful selfie of me and my baby girl.

Kaitlyn w/ Payden and Case, in line to drive the boat.

Lunch on the lawn and then we had to leave. Quick trip but really fun.

They picked the location of their class picture, which had interesting lighting :-)
