Wednesday Bethany, Kelly, myself and the kids headed to Yellowstone for the day.
Bethany and the girls on a chilly morning.
It was a beautiful morning - green everywhere and snow on all the mountains
Some bison and their babies snoozing by the road
This was the view while we were stuck in a 30 minute traffic jam - I guess there are worse places you could be held up!
This was the cause of the traffic jam - 3 male buffalo that were meandering down the road.

The kids said they were stinky, but they were pretty cool looking too. We kept referring to our trip as 'looking at the Park' so when we got back in the car Morgan said "That was the park? We must have missed the swings and slides huh?"

Kelly & Pav
This is Yellowstone Lake - it was beautiful views all around it.

And there she blows! We only had to wait about 15 minutes which was great for our patient crew.
Kelly and Morgan at some real stinky geysers.
This was a steam cave

We even got to see a Grizzly Bear.
We made a stop to see the waterfalls too. This was the upper falls.
I was a nervous wreck with the kids running around them...but they could have cared less and were goofing off like kids do anyway.
Our attempt at a group photo...poor Devin didn't like the sun, Tyson wouldn't get his picture and the wind was blowing so I couldn't see...why do we bother?
This is a shot of the upper falls (where the pictures from above were taken).
This was the lower falls...kinda postcard-like huh?
The gorge
We saw a couple herds of elk. These were looking intently at something and after a few minutes we realized they were looking at a Grizzly Bear that was in the bushes. I couldn't get a good picture of it because it was laying down but it was cool to see all the animals together - there were even some Bison that were there keeping their eye on the bear.
