Well Manhattan got their 15 minutes of fame this week...for all the wrong reasons.
Downtown flooded in a big way.
All the businesses in the first two blocks had 1-2 feet of water.
Most have basements and those were plumb full.
No Bingo at the legion tonight :(
Here was the problem. The snow melted so quickly the ditches couldn't handle the flows so this lake was created on the South side of the interstate.
The Detour around downtown...no warm fuzzies driving through this. But you see other people make it so you assume you will too.
This was our ditch the night before the water really came up...yes, in March :(
This was the next morning...the water was all over the road and up into the yard.
But thankfully we were away from the "mess".
