4-H Camp

Kaitlyn had one of her Big Girl moments and spent the week away from home at 4-H Camp! It was only 20 minutes from Bozeman up at Hyalite Reservoir but it was overnight and the real deal.

Here she is on Day #1 in her bunk. It was rainy and cold (and was supposed to be all week) so to say she was "happy" about being left was untrue. Actually I couldn't take many pictures because just about everything was prompting tears to flow.

She had a camera and we had high hopes that she'd get alot of good pictures....but we got 3 :)

They hiked up to Grotto Falls

Her buddy Molly.

One of her counselors Nicole.

Then this was the day I picked her up from camp. It was the first sunny day all week...and they were leaving...:)

Some of the bunkmates L to R: Lilly, Oliva, Remy, Molly and Kaitlyn

Group photo (she's almost in the middle, kneeling...behind a kid's hand)

This was much better. back at work with Mommy, watching movies and McDonald's for lunch. We're ridiculously proud of her for making the entire week knowing how nervous she gets about this stuff. She was pretty much on her own...there were only a couple boys that she knew at camp from her club.

Upon unpacking her bags there were a lot of clean clothes in there and mostly untouched items. Her explanation was that she only changed when she was really dirty...took one shower the whole week...and didn't brush her teeth because she couldn't find her toothbrush. That being said, the highlights of the camp were getting to see a wolf and a grizzly bear, making spy gear, doing the rope course through the trees and getting to dance with a boy. What??? Apparently at a couple campfires they had a dance-off and you had to find a partner. Both nights a boy named Larry asked her to dance (she says with a blushed face). In the future years this won't be so cute...:) But we're good for now and happy she had a good time!
