4-H Project Tour

Kaitlyn's 4-H club decided for their June meeting that they would visit all the member's home and view their projects (as most have animals and cannot bring them to a common place). It was fun to see where everyone lived and what they've been working on.

We started and Manhattan Christian School and there was this huge fluffy owl in the tree. They said it was a baby (but it looked as big as a 2 year-old)...these must be the kinds that haul off whole cats :)

At the school one of the seniors Amanda had painted this mural...which was pretty impressive.

Then we ventured to see some animals.

Piggies!

They were so cute but the kids were thoroughly disgusted at how smelly they were and the mud they ate.

Devin met a friend, a calf that the owners are bottle feeding because his mom didn't survive his delivery. He was so cute and Devin bonded with him...they just kinda stared at each other. I'm sure he will soon be asking for a cow...I've already prepared my response: No.

Big steers now!

This was so cute to see everyone so interested in what the kids had to say about their project. They had lots of good questions too :)

More steers

And finally, Lauren's sheep

The kids had a great time learning about them and petting them.

We brought Kaitlyn's sewing stuff to the party (so we didn't have to stop at our house).

She and a couple others in cooking met and baked for the BBQ.

Mike and Nancy grilling up the grub for us all...they were awesome!

The girls playing leap frog. It was the perfect evening to just hang out.
