The 4-H year has begun and this year...I became the club leader (short-straw, beginners luck, etc...). The leader before had done it for 17 years so she deserved a break and well, we'll be here for awhile so why not :)
The first club meeting we did an activity to practice Parliamentary Procedure.
Here, they're were making motions and voting to remove the anchovies and jalapenos from the pizza....not sure why.
The kids appeared to have a good time and I think they learned a thing or two.

Over the holidays the club decided to round up donations for the local animal shelter. These cuties got to deliver the items.
The kids asked alot of questions and even got to play with some of the cats and kittens.

Kaitlyn is in the Rabbit Project this year.
Her and I signed up to help with the fund-raiser for the year, selling cotton candy at the Christmas Stroll. It was chilly and rainy but we had a pretty good time.
They had their first meeting in November and played some ice-breaker games.

We also managed to get the club's Christmas Party at our house this year. The family that had volunteered to host came down the flu...so in a matter of two days our garage was cleaned and transformed w/ leftover Christmas decorations.
Full house. 55 people at one point.
The younger siblings were glad they could escape to the house and play.
We played some minute-to-win-it type games.
And rounded it out with a Secret Santa Gift Exchange.

In December Kaitlyn started in on her Archery project too. Yes, it was midly overwhelming the amount of things she was in at one point but the shooting sports only goes for the 3 months of winter and then we're done :) Just in time for softball to start...
She really likes it and does really well.
Daddy has even been certified to be an instructor so it gives a good excuse for Daddy-Daughter time.
