Oh yes...it's finally happening. We're starting our remodel. We've been delayed for the past two years for one thing or another and well...we finally got some things lined up and decided to rip the Band-Aid off!
Tyson was more than happy to help with some of the demo.
Once a garage bathroom...
... now a future mechanical area.
And furthermore...he's happy to finally live out his dream of a Double Decker Couch (from the Lego Movie)...slightly modified :-) I didn't take a picture but he also flipped the couches over and made a nice fort to play in.
The weekend following the fair was when we really dug into the demo. Master bedroom/closet.
Master bath
Laundry room
The black and gold bathroom is no-more :-)
From the outside it looked like an abandoned crack house. We had so many people ask that week what we were doing to our house. Just a little remodel.
The next Friday after work the real demo began
The filled two side dumps and waited until morning when the dump opened up.
Tyson was the firehose guy. He was supposed to keep the blown-in insulation wet so it didn't fly around...plus it was really fun!
Devin was certain to be up early the next day so he could go on the first ride to the dump with Daddy. Tyson rode in the other truck with our friend Heath.
The girls and I woke up to this sight on Saturday morning. Dan...having fun tearing up the house. If you can imagine, the entire thing was shaking.
He's sitting where the living room used to be.
Sad part of the story...the big tree had to go too. It'd been struck by lightning and the roots were going to be too close to the new foundation. We did learn when trying to knock it down, that is probably wasn't going anywhere for awhile...it was pretty solid.
With everything out of the way it was time to trench in some new utilities.
We even put in a new well pump - twice the pressure just like that!
Dig for the new footprint.
The chickens are loving all of this demo and dirt - they have a great time all day long.
