We headed down the road for our Memorial weekend camping trip. Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park, which is between Three Forks and Whitehall along the Jefferson River. It was a great spot with great weather (no snow)! Uncle Jay & Auntie E and kids, Newell & Becky and kids, Kent & Carley and kids, Ryan & his little guy. We were missing Tyler & Mary, as they could not make it due to work.
The girls went on a hike Saturday to see an abandoned mine site and some other places.
They were a bit terrified of the tunnel, which had a big gate across it; but were willing to get this close.
Devin made it for part of the hike with Daddy but they turned around. He was happy to bum around the camp all weekend.
Morgan, teaching the boys some baseball skills :)
Up to no good, these two. Actually they didn't get into too much trouble, they just fought a lot!
The lone puddle in our camp got quite a bit of their attention. Within 20 minutes of arriving, Easton fell face first into it when trying to ride the trike through it. Every pair of their shoes was muddy.
Apparently you can't help yourself as a kid...it's so tempting.
Oh yes, and the boys found even more mud. They created their own by turning on the water spigot. They were a soaked, muddy mess and both got showers afterward.
The bikes were awesome entertainment for all the kids.
As were smores.
The guys, well the beer and BS'ing was their entertainment.
There was even a playground here - the kids had a blast on it. 11 in all from our group.

Sunday we drove up the hill to the Lewis and Clark Caverns for a tour. Sadly we live 30 minutes away and have never been...
The Dads and their boys.
The Moms and their girls :)
Us at the top of the entrance, kind of a hike but we did well.
Going in.
Morgan and Addy vied for the closest spot to the tour guide. They loved it and probably would have taken the tour without any parents.
Our group shot.
Devin didn't quite make it.
Mommy still had to pack him all the way back to the truck...and this kid is heavy now!
Easton and Devin playing in the dog kennels...happy boys.
Auntie E had brought some kites, and even though the weather was perfect the wind wasn't cooperating and they kept crashing to the ground.
They still had fun.
Sunday was also Mommy's birthday. After we had a gully-washer of a storm, Daddy baked some cake in his dutch oven. It was yummy!
This was after the storm. The puddle that we had whittled away to almost nothing grew to a gigantic pond in a matter of 30 minutes. Up until this point the weather had been as perfect as could be.
And this is what you usually do when you camp on Memorial Weekend...play in snow hats and coats.
