A Little Damp Camping Trip

This weekend we signed up for an adventure of camping at Hyalite Reservoir (near Bozeman) with some friends from Mommy's work. Mommy remembered the chocolate but forgot her camera so we had to rely on I-Phone pictures. Friday evening it rained, thundered and then broke about 10:30pm. We had a nice campfire and the kids crashed. Saturday morning it rained.

When the rain broke Saturday we went for a little hike up to Grotto Falls.

The kids were very impressed with the waterfall, having not remembered being here before :)

Devin didn't quite make it to the top.

Having a snack on the way back down.

Hitchin' a ride on the way down.

Kaitlyn got to do some real driving...Daddy's hands off and her at the wheel. This picture reminds me of another....

Driving @ 18 months :)

When we got back from the hike the thunder/hail rolled in so we were confined to the camper...

***Break here for the best part of the camping trip***

...so Mommy and Devin took a nap for over 2 hours. I'm not sure how long it's been since I took a nap but I was way past due.

Saturday evening we met up with Erica (Theron's co-worker) at her camp down the road to have dinner. They are both into dutch oven cooking so we had a fabulous meal of ribs, salmon, beans, salad, etc.... Erica even made two cakes after dinner (Morgan and Kaitlyn got to help).

The boy loves his corn.
He was helping himself to half eaten ones off plates...

Yee haw!

Sunday Mommy and Morgan hiked with our fellow campers Carol and Kevin to History Rock.

We made it to the rock but not to the top, as there were 3 black bears on the trail so we tucked tail and returned to the truck :)

Good thing because we had chores to get home to.

Her first time mowing the grass...she did pretty well and caught onto keep it straight :)

The kids had VBS this week so the evenings have been pretty laid back, as everyone is exhausted by the end of the day.

Except Morgan....

...and Devin...

...and The King.

This cracked me up....they actually cooperated for a photo!

Kaitlyn and the cat...these two miss eachother during the day. If one of us walks in the door first the cat looks up, snubs you and moves on to find Kaitlyn. Not sure why but she must know Kaitlyn loves her, even though she tortures her so.

And last but not least....
Every cowboy needs to make a pit stop every now and again!
