Sunday April 27th was a 4-H day for Kaitlyn.
She kicked it off with the first Jr. to give a demonstration. The judges were late and people she didn't know started piling in the room so she got a little nervous. She did pretty well but mostly it was a good experience.
Right after she was hustled down to the Jr's Fashion Review practice...which if you know Kaitlyn, is not really her kind of thing :)
She had it pretty easy, modeling the pajama pants and pillowcase that she made.
The Jr group practiced modeling for the judges.
Families came for the final show and she had to walk while they read her commentary:
Kaitlyn Pavlik is all set for a sleepover in these warm
pajama bottoms and toting her new pillowcase. Kaitlyn is 9 years old and a 1st
year member of the Manhattan Clever Clover 4-H Club. As a 3rd grader
she loves to play soccer, basketball and softball but her preferred pastime is
to stay up late to read or watch a movie. An animal lover, Kaitlyn picked the
navy and white dog pattern flannel as her pant materials because she thought
the dogs were cute. The pillowcase fabric was chosen due to the colorful ice
cream pattern. Kaitlyn noted that the most challenging part was sewing the
waistband and putting in the elastic band the pants. Her favorite part was
learning how to use the Serger. These lightweight pajama pants provide the
perfect loungewear for any season. Great job on your first sewing project
Kaitlyn!
Here she is getting her blue ribbon!
